Maternity Photography

Maternity sessions are important times in a young couple's life. As with most life changing events, the pictures will serve as a permanent record of that special time. In many cases, it is a first pregnancy, and makes the occasion that much more meaningful.

I encourage couples to provide props if they desire, but do not insist on it. I will not offer props because I want each session to be personal and unique to each family.

I like using backlight because it can really accentuate the woman's shape, and at the same time, create a powerful image.

If you shoot a maternity session, be creative and try to demonstrate the love and joy the future parents have for the most significant blessing in their lives.

If the couple already has a child or children, it's important to incorporate them into the session. Or if they request to include a pet, I am happy to oblige.

Maternity sessions can be challenging and, at the same time, very rewarding. I always welcome the opportunity and look forward to the next session.
